“When the HipHop world in the early 90's made a left with Gangsta Rap, these guys took a right and started their own genre of hiphop calling it Horrorcore.”

The Flatlinerz stand as one of the most influential and controversial groups in hip hop history — the originators of Horrorcore, a dark, theatrical, and boundary-pushing style that reshaped the underground and inspired an entire generation of artists around the world.

Signed to Def Jam Recordings in the 1990s, the group broke into the industry with a bold creative vision that blended horror cinema, occult themes, and gritty East Coast lyricism into something hip hop had never experienced before.

Led by Jamel “Redrum” Simmons — nephew of Def Jam co-founder Russell Simmons and hip hop icon Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons of RUN DMC — alongside his equally fierce lyrical partner Gravedigger, The Flatlinerz quickly developed a reputation for their fearless artistic identity. Their unapologetic style, razor-sharp delivery, and vividly theatrical imagery cemented them as cult legends and pioneers of a subculture that continues to thrive across the world.

Today, The Flatlinerz remain a driving force in underground hip hop. Their music combines hardcore lyricism, dark atmospheres, and conceptual storytelling, while their live performances deliver the same explosive, high-energy theatricality that first set them apart. Onstage, the duo transforms every event into an immersive experience — commanding the crowd with charisma, precision, and a stage presence honed through a undying dedication with each performance.

With a legacy rooted in innovation and rebellion, The Flatlinerz continue to evolve, influence, and push the genre they helped create. Whether on record or onstage, they offer audiences a unique and unforgettable journey into the darker side of hip hop culture.
